Rachel in her new dress.

Nicole in her new dress. She's tall and had to add the bottom yellow band at the bottom to make it long enough. She also sewed two other dresses and used this 10+ hours as one of her Personal Progress projects.

Just had to show off my Rachel! So, beautiful!

Easter

Emily is now seven months and this was her first Easter. Still such a happy baby, but also has a temper. She could spend hours in the bathtub and usually after I take her out and diaper her, she crawls right back to the bathtub. (Poor little knees)
She obviously didn't "get" Easter, but we had fun pretending that she loved it.

We went to Utah's Canyonlands and Arches National Park during Spring Break and went on a 1.5 mile hike to see this famous arch (Delicate Arch). There was a little whining and crying going on, we ditched the three wheel stroller 3/4 of the way and basically had to celebrate that we all made it!
We missed Elise with us, but college didn't get the same break.

Today Emily turned seven months. She definitely has a mind of her own. She is just beginning to crawl and her poor little knees show it. She recognizes the word "bath," her favorite place besides in our arms. She laughs, and likes to watch a Baby Signing video. Yes, we are new at this, but would love to teach her baby sign language so that we can communicate before age two. Seven months is early for this, but we're just trying to make the connection between the word and the actual object/person/animal. Ask any of the older sisters and they can sign it. She has two little teeth on the bottom, but will not eat baby food. We have tried so many things and she spits it right back out. She does like Cheerios though, and she can get half of them in her mouth.

Easter Sunday and General Conference are both this weekend and Nicole's 15th birthday is on Monday. (We just ordered a cake and Nicole wants the words "Happy 16th birthday Nicole" on it. We did it for fun...hey we missed doing something for April Fools Day)

March 2, 2010 Exactly six months old.

Emily is six months old already!

Yesterday, Emily turned 1/2 year old. These past six months have gone by very quickly. She can sit up with support, pick up toys and pass them from one hand to the other. We "think" she can wave with her whole arm. She doesn't seem to like any food we've given her except for the natural dairy. We've tried bananas, applesauce, pears, rice cereal, and oatmeal. She naps around three times a day, but the length of the nap is shortening.

Twice now, strangers have asked me if this is my grandbaby! The first time was at the doctor's office and the second time was an insulation representative. Are you KIDDING?!?

Our family had a fun opportunity on Valentine's Day. Along with four other families that had ties to The Young Amassadors, we were involved in a special fireside entitled "I Am a Child of God" Fireside. It featured Young Ambassadors from the past and present. In between their musical selections, we and the other families simulated a portion of a family night with a song and a few speaking lines. Our family was third and our song was "I'm Trying to be Like Jesus." It was actually pretty fun to do this. Emily sat on our laps perfectly. It will be aired one of these days.
